This new piece is composed of six separate layers plus four strands of beads. It is rich with highly textured fabrics and lots of curved piecing, even pleating. It has silks, upholstery fabrics, hand dyeds, an old striped table cloth and more. I quilted and finished each panel before tacking them together. Then, with the help of my friend and expert beadmaster Lin Schiffner, I strung four strands of beads and shells, and tacked them down to prevent tangling. It's very heavy, but I'll enjoy looking at all the detail for a long time.
