Here's something new and different from my usual work. This small piece consists of twenty 5.5" blocks made with just two fabrics. They are a hand-dyed cotton sateen with many colors, and a black cotton, discharged with a simple design.
The blocks have skinny lines, a la Rosalie Dace, inserted as curves. They are carefully placed to give the impression of wavy lines across the piece. I machine quilted each block with lines echoing the curves. Then I added borders to the sides, quilted them, and faced the whole thing.
I will submit WAVES to the Mountain Art Quilters challenge, "Rhythms of Life". I hope they like it.
